Tips for Searching the Database
All searches are "and" searches. This means that every result of a search will
contain all the words you search for.
Do not use words such as "and" or "or". Do not use
parenthesis.

To narrow your search, include a category name.

note:one word from any catagory name is suffecient to include the entire category in your search (e.g. using "inns" in your search will include all records in the
category "Inns Lodges and B&B's").

Search geographically by city or county. If a search for a particular city
yields no results try searching by the appropriate county to find sites near to
that city. If you don't know what county a particular town or city is in here
is a list of counties and their cities that are represented in the database.
Don't include words such as "north" or "Georgia" , all these sites are in north
Georgia or they wouldn't be in the database.
Don't use too many words in your search. Sometimes less gets more. Start your search with one or two
words. It is better to start with a broad search and do a second search if you need to narrow the results.
Example searches:
Example One: You want to find an Inns Lodge or B&B in Hiawassee.
Search for "inns Hiawassee".
Example Two: You want to find an Inn Lodge or B&B in or near Hiawassee.
A search for "inn Hiawassee" returns only sites listed under Hiawassee. You
check our list of counties and their cities and find that Hiawassee is in Towns
County so you do a search for "inns Towns".
Example Three: You are looking for a place to stay for a mountain getaway.
You decide you would like to stay in a cabin rather than an inn or B&B,. so
you do a search for "cabin". This search yields over seventy results arranged
by county. Looking over the results from your first search you see that many
cabins have fireplaces some have jacuzzi or hot tubs, some are on rivers some
are on mountaintops. You decide you want to stay in a cabin on a river that has
a hot tub. You do a new search for "cabins river hot tub". This search returns only the cabins you are interested in.
