Book Review: "The Waterfalls of the Southern Appalachians"
by Brian Boyd
Fern Creek Press ISBN #0-9625737-8-7
This book is a must have for anyone wanting to explore the waterfalls of north
Georgia, the western Carolinas, and the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
While no book could possibly cover all the falls in these mountains, this book
does cover over one hundred and fifty, some well known but many that are lesser
known.
The falls are grouped geographically and rated by stream flow and difficulty of
hike. The directions given are easy to follow and accurate. Whether you are
looking for falls that can be viewed with little or no hiking or want to
explore some isolated, hard to reach falls, you will find them in this book.
This guide book contains an abundance of useful information; including maps,
informative descriptions and photos. Also included are some great tips for
photographing these falls.
