The Tale:
The first thing you should know is that the "West Rim Trail" starts on the east rim of the gorge. I was confused, at first, by that fact.

Turns out that both the "West Rim Trail" and the "Waterfalls Trail" start from the main parking area on the eastern rim. The trail follows the east rim for a short distance before heading down into the gorge. After dropping a couple of hundred feet the trail splits.

The "West Rim Trail" takes you across Daniel Creek then back up to, you guessed it, the west rim. The trail runs the rim of the canyon and provides some of the best views the park has to offer. This trail is teeming with rhododendron. ..Continued
