Cloudland Canyon
The Facts:
Cloudland Canyon, one of Georgia's largest and most scenic state parks, sits on the western edge of Lookout Mountain. The park straddles a deep gorge carved out by Sitton Gulch Creek. The elevation drops from 1800 ft above sea level at the rim of the gorge to 800 ft at the bottom. Fantastic views are to be found along the eastern rim easily accessed from the parking area. The "West Rim Trail", moderate in difficulty, offers more great views. The "Waterfall Trail" leads down into the gorge to two waterfalls on Daniel Creek. This steep trail is largely composed of a series of man-made steps.
