Amicalola Park and Countryside Cafe

The Tale:
We spent two nights at Amicalola last fall with our good friends, Jed and China. Ripple was left in Atlanta with Weave's Aunt as pets are not allowed in the cabins.

We stayed in cottage twelve which is the parks "deluxe" cabin. This cabin features two bedrooms, full kitchen, screened in porch, fireplace in the great room and fireplace and jacuzzi in the master bedroom, dining table with room for six, two very comfortable couches and rocking chairs on the porch and a charcoal grill and picnic table out back. The only problem we encountered was deciding which couple would get the master bedroom, however we were able to work this out amicably and we all had our "tub time" before it was over.

We grilled steaks the first night then played cards till the wee hours. The next day was spent enjoying the park and exploring the surrounding area before arriving at the Cafe for our 7:00 p.m. reservation.

Our first reaction to the cafe was surprise. "What the heck is a place like this doing out here in the middle of nowhere?", we asked ourselves. We would expect an establishment of this in Buckhead or the Highlands but not in the sticks of north Georgia.
