Amicalola Park and Countryside Cafe
The Facts:
Amicalola is a Cherokee word meaning "tumbling Waters". The falls at Amicalola tumble 729 feet, making it the tallest in Georgia. In addition to the scenic falls the park offers rental cabins, camping, a modern Lodge with spectacular views and a walk-in lodge accommodating 40 persons with family style meals. The approach trail to Springer Mountain (the Georgia terminus of the Appalachian Trail) begins at Amicalola Park. Amicalola offers a quick and easy getaway for anyone wanting to escape the chaos of Atlanta.

The park is located on hwy 52, 18 miles west of Dahlonega.

The Countryside Cafe is located just a few miles from Amicalola Parks. Featuring creative contemporary cuisine from Chef/Owner John Lupi, the cafe is open for dinner Tuesday- Sunday and Lunch Wednesday - Saturday. John's wife Cindy runs the front of the house and has assembled a friendly professional wait staff to rival the finest restaurants in Atlanta. The menu changes ever couple of months to take advantage of seasonal availability. Nightly Chef's Specials are also offered. The cafe offers an excellent selection of wines. Reservations are recommended.
