Located on the Chattahoochee River just two blocks off of Main Street, the Hampton Inn offers a quiet yet convenient place to stay while visiting Helen. The Hotel features a pool and a very nice "parklike" area adjacent to the river. The shops and restaurants of Helen are just a short walk away, but the inn is well away from the noise of the busy Main Street (most of Helen's other motels are located right on the main drag.) Covered parking, beneath the hotel, is also a nice feature.

We booked our room through TravelNow.com and received a rate of $135.00 per night for a riverside room featuring a king bed, large whirlpool tub, balcony overlooking the river, cable tv with HBO, microwave, and refrigerator. The rate posted for this room on the door was $210.00 per night.

The desk clerk was very friendly and efficient. Check in took only a moment.

Our room was very clean and the furnishings comfortable. We were a bit surprised that our room did not contain a nice easy chair but the small sofa (loveseat) was comfortable. The plastic drinking cups supplied were a bit disappointing. For $135.00 per night, one might expect a real glass to drink from, but this is a minor complaint. Overall, we were very pleased with the accommodations at the Hampton Inn.
