The 'Big House', as we came to refer to it, was the two bedroom cabin. We had originally planned on renting this, but it was booked for the weekend. It was by far the best of the cabins. The "big house" had a large hot tub on the porch, much more space than the other cabins, and was more private. It was better suited to a party than the small L-shaped cabin we were in or the even smaller loft cabins that my brother and Phil had rented.
Later that night as Weave and I snuggled into bed, Weave asked, "Did you have a nice birthday?"
"Yea it was fine," I responded.
Actually I was a little disappointed. We had spent a pleasant enough day going from cabin to cabin, visiting with our various friends. The weather and lack of space, however, had prevented all of us from getting together in the same cabin at the same time. Everyone mostly stayed in their own cabin, huddled by the fire. Our various friends had little interaction with each other. We were several distinct groups rather than the one large group I had envisioned. The party I had planned on never developed.
